Lessons from Superstorm Sandy

February 12th, 2013 jgarber No comments

Rocco, The World’s Youngest Corporate Video Blogger is Back!
Joined again by Insurance Expert Steve Breitbart

Plucky Pint-Sized Reporter, Rocco is back on the road. She sat down for an interview with Steve Breitbart of Cypress Insurance to explore what lessons businesses and individuals can learn from Superstorm Sandy. Many people assume their Property and Casualty or Windstorm Insurance would have protected them. But without proper Flood Insurance, they’ve been left holding the bag.

Look out for our next interview with Steve on Digital Assets Protection. Any business using Cloud Computing or storing vital data will want to watch this.

The Top Five Tech Tips that Will Help Better Protect Your Business

March 16th, 2012 kkline No comments

Even if you’re not all that familiar with current technology trends and/or you don’t keep up with the latest versions of software, the newest cell phones, operating systems, etc., if you’re running a small to medium sized business and rely on email or any other basic internet programs, knowing the top five tech tips that will help better protect your business will most likely benefit you.

Saying that these are the top five tech tips that will help better protect your business does not mean there are not more than five or that there is not a possibility of this list changing.  It simply means right here and right now, Connections for Business wants to share the following information related to the top five tech tips that will better protect your business.

We believe the number one tech tip we can give that will most likely never change is to hire an IT company, like Connections for Business to ensure, no matter what they are, that #s 2-5 are implemented correctly and in a timely fashion.

Remember, even if tech tips # 2-5 change, whether on a regular basis or not, your main focus when running a small to medium sized business should not be IT related (unless of course, you’re running an IT company).  With the frequency in which technology changes these days along with the speed in which it does so, all things information technology related should be left to the professionals.

For the last 30+ years, Connections for Business has been the go-to IT company for small to medium sized businesses in all of South Florida.  Whether you’re curious to learn exactly what #s 2-5 are or simply want to ask a more specific question related to your individual business, the professional team at Connections can help you today.  Simply pick up the phone and give us a call!

IT support is available through Connections for Business in South Florida

March 14th, 2012 kkline No comments

Are you a small to medium sized business currently operating in South Florida looking for something more than the standard break-fix contract currently in place related to your information technology needs?  Believe it or not, you’re not alone.  However, this is not the path you should want to continue down if you plan on growing your business.  The good news is, we can help; IT support is available through Connections for Business in South Florida.

If you’re not all that well versed with the ever changing face of technology, it’s probably a good idea to leave it in the hands of a professional.  Not on a break-fix contract however, that is never the way to approach technology or the answer to your IT related issues.  The idea that you need to wait for something to stop working in order to be helped is, in our opinion, absurd.  We understand the high costs associated with an on-site IT department which tends to exceed most small to medium sized businesses budgets.  That’s just one of the reasons why IT support is available through Connections for Business in South Florida.  Not only is the support we offer the best given our 30+ years of experience, but it is also a cost-effective IT solution.

Servers, exchange hosting, cloud computing, managed IT – it can be quite a mouthful especially if you have zero experience and have to learn it all, on your own, from the ground up.  We know we’ve already said it quite a few times, but we want to make sure you remember; IT support is available through Connections for Business in South Florida.

What do you have to lose by picking up the phone and calling us?  We truly believe you can only gain information and if we can help provide a solution to a current, ongoing IT related issue, even better.   We would love to help and welcome the opportunity to speak to you.

Rocco Donates to Locks of Love

November 1st, 2011 jgarber No comments

Rocco Donates 10 Inches of Hair
To Locks of Love

Alright, we won’t kid you. We were getting mighty tired of finding Rocco’s hair everywhere. She wouldn’t get it cut until she learned about Locks of Love and the kids they help. Right then and there she asked for a haircut and to blog about it to educate other kids. Cool Cuts for Kids in Hollywood donated the haircut and the next day we drove to Locks of Love to interview Lauren Kukkamaa, the Communications Director. Rocco learned all about the organization and their mission. Most importantly, she learned about the impact her donation will have on another child’s life. Well, she’s already growing it out again and hopes other people, young and old, will follow her example.

Rocco is The World’s Youngest Corporate Video Blogger based here at Connections for Business. When she is not spreading Safety Tips for Kids, she is educating people about ConnectCare Outsource IT, Business Continuity and Cloud Computing. Drop her a line with an idea.

On the Road with Rocco – Falcon Aerospace

May 4th, 2011 jgarber 1 comment

Rocco has gone solo!
See her first Solo Client Interview.

Since they tore down The Cubicle of Doom to make room for our expanded ConnectCare Response Center, Rocco and The Master of Disaster have been homeless. We put out the call to our vendors and clients for help and the response has been amazing. We have been getting invitations to visit their offices to shoot our blog and highlight their companies.

Rocco, The World’s Youngest Corporate Video Blogger, sat down with Jerry Bashir of Falcon Aerospace. She toured their operation to learn about aircraft metals. Then Jerry took the time to explain how Falcon Aerospace operates as well as how Connections for Business helps them. This is Rocco’s first solo client interview. Not bad for a seven-year-old! Be sure to leave her a comment and let her know how great she’s doing.

On The Road with The Master of Disaster and Cooper Properties

The Master of Disaster and Rocco visit Cooper Properties

Since they tore down The Cubicle of Doom to make room for our expanded ConnectCare Response Center, Rocco and The Master of Disaster have been homeless. We put out the call to our vendors and clients for help and the response has been amazing. We have been getting invitations to visit their offices to shoot our blog and highlight their companies.

Rocco and I had the chance this past week to sit down with Caldwell Cooper of Cooper Properties. Cooper Properties is a landmark in South Florida providing a full range of rental apartments in Fort Lauderdale. Cooper uses the Virtual Hosted Office Cloud Computing solution from Connections for Business. With the Virtual Hosted Office, he can be on the road visiting his properties while staying on top of the business. He is also ready for any disaster year round and the Virtual Hosted Office is housed in a secure collocation bunker.
